Days 9 & 10: Richmond, VA
We had some time in Richmond while my hubby had to attend to some business so the kids and I hung out at the mall until he finished. Then we drove about 20 minutes away to one of the coolest towns we have visited on the trip, Carytown, VA. The area is filled with hip restaurants & shops and an old movie theater that we just had to explore. It turns out that they show first run movies here for $2 a person!!! We decided to see The Muppets Most Wanted movie.
The next day was our last day before the long drive home. We stopped by the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden to see the butterfly exhibit.
And that's it for our East Coast Roadtrip 2014. 11 days was a long time but the memories we shared on this trip will stay with me forever. My kids actually got along with each other, we all laughed and have so many stories to tell & remember. Being forced to be together 24 hours a day for that long was exactly what my family needed to reconnect and unplug from the world!
